GLOBAL THAI RESTAURANT FRANCHISE MANGO TREE UNVEILS ITS HOTTEST RESTAURANT BRAND IN NEPAL WITH THE OPENING OF MANGO CHILI IN KATHMANDU

December 1, 2016

KATHMANDU, NEPAL: Mango Tree Worldwide has unveiled its hottest and hippest restaurant brand in Kathmandu today, introducing a concept of “genuine” Thai cuisine to discerning diners in the Nepalese capital with the opening of Mango Chili.

Located on the second floor of Labim Mall, the casual restaurant is designed in a hip café-style with elements of Thai design weaved through the approachable interiors of the 2,000 square-foot space.

The fast growing, innovative Thai restaurant chain has opened two Mango Chili restaurants across two countries in the last two years as its concept of offering “genuine” Thai cuisine in a contemporary Thai influenced and stylish setting – with a combination of communal bar and table seating – has been well received.

“We are delighted to open our first Mango Chili in Nepal,” said Mango Tree Worldwide Managing Director Trevor Mackenzie. “We feel that the fit is perfect and the market is ready to appreciate great Thai food and its distinct and subtle flavours.

“Mango Chili is a real slice of Thai culture, lifestyle and dining – providing something for everyone whatever their tastes – from very spicy dishes such as Grapow and Vegetarian Som Tam to medium spiced dishes such as Pat Kee Mao Gai and less spicy soups. All food can then be adapted according to preferences with the sweet, sour, salty and spicy sauces we provide on the table.”

The restaurant is launching also with its signature Mango Chili Combo Sets such as the Phuket Set, Jatujak Grapow Set and the Royal Thai Set.

A door-to-door delivery service to all downtown urban areas in the city will also be launched in January next year, increasing the scope for the restaurant and providing the first dedicated delivery service for Thai food in the city. Highlights from the menu include classics like Pad Thai, Green curry and Tom Yum along with a range of other popular wok dishes in a menu that includes best of Thailand’s four culinary regions – Northern, Northeastern, Central, and Southern.

In keeping with its light and breezy Thai dining philosophy, all the food will be prepared and served fresh and simple to highlight the Thai flavours and dishes will be priced affordably. An oversized blackboard prominently displayed in the main dining area highlights specials of the day depending on seasonal ingredients available to the chefs. The enticing food menu is paired with an equally tempting collection of complementary cocktails.

The Mango Chili is the younger, sister brand of signature brand, Mango Tree, which can be found in many of the world’s major capitals such as London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Washington DC. The culinary group also includes Coca Restaurants for a total of 73 outlets globally.
